Default Show Off Your Snows! Post pics w/ Winters on

Hey there...I have a 2007 S4 and I'm shopping for winters. I generally hate having the car look like crap for 4 months, so I'm looking hard for a cool set of winters.

I thought this would be a cool topic...the opposite of everyone showing off their 19 and 20" shiny monster wheels...let's see your car with its snowshoes on there for the winter

Cheers

Shouldn't this be in a different forum? General Audi Discussion perhaps?

Or is this just for "S" owners winters? If so, you better take your TT elsewhere, Jazz...

All in favour of having Jazz removed as a member?!

I have to decide whether I use the OEM wheels or buying a set of Hartmann RS4 - DTM 18" reps for winter. (The smallest wheel I can fit over the brakes are 18".)

Here's what I have for pros and cons so far. Any other input would be more than welcome.

OEM Wheels for winter - 19x9 ET29
Pros:
A bit of curb rash on both passenger wheels.
Get to buy something new for summer wheels. Currently pricing the Work Varianza T1S.

Cons:
More expensive rubber.
Likely rougher ride.
Wider tires need to push harder through snow.

18" Hartmann wheels for winter - 18x8.5 ET25
Pros:
Cheaper than the OEM wheels or the summer wheels I am considering.
Cheaper tires.
Narrower tires.

Cons:
Will likely refinish OEM wheels for summer.
Don't get to (shouldn't) buy new summer wheels.

I use my stock Audi rims for my b5 s4 and run them on sottozeros (pirelli is the best winter tires)

The RS4 looks fantastic with those 19" OEM 7 twin spoke wheels. Don't change those for summer...just live with the rash or refinish them. Keeping that car's appearance 100% stock is perfect...such a cool car as is.

For winters, what are the Hartmanns? Are they B7 RS4 reps? VMR makes amazing B7 RS4 reps and 18" would fit nicely. Not sure the offset though.

p.s. Regina...what's with trading out of that TT so fast? Are you a dealer?
