Hey guys,

Do you change your tires around on your rims or did you buy winter tires on their own rims?

If the latter is the case, where did you get the rims from and how much did you pay (as long as you don't mind disclosing). As much a fan I am of AWD, I'm still intending on getting dedicated winter tires and will probably go with winter rims as well.

Got them from Tirerack.com with my tires. Sport Edition alloys $99 each.

Winter tires should always be a size smaller than the summer rubber (both in diameter and width), so dedicated winter wheels are required, unless you want to end up in a snow drift.

There is a range of tire widths that are safe to run on a given wheel width. Google for more info.

Did they go straight on the vehicle? ie with your existing nuts, no alterations or had to change anything.

Tirerack is quoting $1200USD for 4 Continental ExtremeContact (215/55R16) on alloys delivered to my door.

OkTire is quoting roughly the same in $CAN on steel rims, Kal Tire is $1400+ for Nokian on steel.

For what its worth Tirerack supplied my winters.

Just purchased 4 x Sport F7 alloys with Continental Extremewintercontact XL on 215/55/16 (my stock is 235/45/17) for $1143 US (includes mounting, balance and shipping/duties) from Tirerack. Shame the TomTom offer doesn't extend to Canada otherwise I'd have had a free GPS as well.

Couldn't find a deal for those tires and alloys anywhere close in Calgary.
