Smile Looking at buying an A5 Cabriolet

Hello,

I am very close on buying an A5 Cabriolet and had questions I hope you guys could answer. Some back ground info.. I am willing to spend up to $55,000, live in Vancouver, prefer the convertible. Prefer the 3.2 litre but could settle for the 2.0 litre. Power isn't a big deal for me.

What year should I be buying? when was there a major facelift for the A5 Cabriolet?

Big differences from 2009-2010-2011?

New shape coming out in 2012/2013?

Any concerns about the A5 Cabriolet? who is a good dealer in vanocuver?

Thanks

The A5 convertible was never offered with the 3.2 engine, so the 2.0T is your only option (unless you can pony up the cash for the S5).

The A5 coupe was introduced in MY 2008; the A5 convertible in MY2010. As a relatively new model, the A5 has not been face-lifted yet. However, a mild facelift is expected in MY2013.

The main difference between the 2010 and 2011 model years is the transmission. The former has a 6 speed tiptronic, while the latter an 8-speed. (IMO, the 8-speed is a much better tranny)

Hope this helps.

P.S. I love my 2011 coupe.

The new A5 cabriolet comes with the upgraded 2.0T engine with the variable valve timing, the timing chain (instead of belt) and 211hp with about 260 lb ft of torque. It is a great power plant, far superior (IMO) to the thirstier six. You can buy a brand new coupe for $46k or the cabriolet for about $58k a bit over your budget but worth getting a new one.

I have been very happy with Open Road Audi on Boundary Rd.

Good Luck

I did, it had to be used and I got a surplused one from a Lincoln dealer in Florida. It had 256 Miles when I picked it up. Now has just over 3,000 Km. You will have to pay 6.1% duty and GST/HST in your case. That is why mine is the price that it is and also why you will have a difficult time to beat that price. This is an expensive vehicle. Let me know if you are interested. I can get you all of the details.
