New Audi Quattro Prototype (RS5)
According to the latest reports from Europe, Audi execs have given the concept the green light and engineers are already putting prototypes through the test.
Based on the current RS5 platform, the Quattro coupe will benefit from some weight saving measures. For instance, the chassis will be made from aluminum and certain body parts will be made from a carbonfibre-reinforced plastic. All this means is that the Quattro coupe will be about 660 lbs lighter than the RS5, which will certainly give the car a performance advantage.
Currently, Audi is running prototypes dressed in RS5 clothes, so you might need x-ray glasses to spot a real test mule, but if all goes well, production can begin by next year. We can’t wait.

Apparently it has the much loved 5 cylinder turbocharged engine and Quattro... Reminiscent of the Ur-Quattro. Ways almost just the same as the old one...

Too cool; Great find, I was beginning to think it was just a BS.
Totally obsessed with the A/S5
It would be nice to see the RS5 finally make it over; I was told it was a liability issue, like the roads & drivers of Europe are better than here

Looks like they were able to mount the I5T longitudinally, and will have a proper quattro system. That's awesome.
The car will be $100,000 I reckon. It's going to be SUPER low production.
p.s. that I5T is pretty damn potent. Anyone see the tuned TT-RS in Europe absolutely put buslengths on the E60 M5 with headers etc? It was on gtboard.com I believe.
