Default ignition problem?

Hi all

(dilemma: Audi Allroad. 2001).

I have an electrical leak somewhere that is causing the battery to run dry after having been parked a week. (separate problem).

Just tried to give it a boost. It has boosted before no problem...until today. When the donor car was hooked up the flashers on the dead car (allroad) started flashing. (normal, sec. system). All of the allroad's systems have power, stereo locks.
When I turn the key to the second position (start) nothing happens? Dash lights come on...but no cranking. I checked all the fuses. Looks ok.

What do you pros suspect, where do I go from here?

Always rule out the simple things first..

Could be your battery is completely fried. I have had cases similar to this and just threw a new battery in and all good!

Also, check the terminals to your battery to make sure they are not corroded or anything, and check your fuses to make sure they are all good.. just to be safe.

If that all fails... test for a short circuit in your system
