Is it the Differential?

Is it the Differential?
A4 Quattro - when I turn corners, or pull out of the driveway, the car makes a wierd noise, and shakes a little bit.
I use to own a Dodge Ram, and when I drove in 4 wheel drive and turned corners, the vehicle "chugged" around the corner as well. I suspected it had something to do with the differential.
Could this be the same case for my Audi? This is the first time I've driven my car in the summer.
I think there is a slight improvement, when I turn the Traction control off as well.
Has this happened to anybody else? Thoughts? Suggestions?
Thanks.

Re: Is it the Differential?
Noise is probably the wrong word. The vehicle vibrates and shakes.

Re: Is it the Differential?
could be cv joints, most likely inner. If it turns out to be the CV, do yourself a favor and just replace the driveshaft. the job takes alot less time and the cost is about the same.

Re: Is it the Differential?
Did you get this issue resolved?
I experience a similar issue. Just to recap the issue I experience is best described as follows:
I get a vibration and shudder when making a hard turn into a bend and I accelerate. It vibrates and shudders for the first 2-5 metres until it clears itself. The vibrating and shudder is most obvious from a standing start. For example, when I turn into my street which has an inclined hill or “I turn up the ramps when exiting car-parks at low speed".
The vibration and shudder is most obvious when the rear wheels are under cross directional load. It does not vibrate or shudder when I exelerate in a straightline.

Re: Is it the Differential?
it is your rotor. take off your wheels, and and sping the rotor, then you can feel your rotor vibrates. either your rotor is not straight or the pads is not sitting probly.
you might have clunk noise when you doing a hard turn at low speed, it is from your suspension if you lowered your car.

Re: Is it the Differential?
Try removing wheel and rotor. May be a neglected wheel bearing that may have finally busted. Did you notice this problem at high speeds when going around turns?
