Re: Tinting Experiences!
Hey Everyone,
I have had one of the worst experiences dealing with the a$$hole (Seymore) at the tint guys. I had my windows tinted there, and they did a horrible job. Every window had either dust spots, creases and other bubbles (and not just one or two, I'm talking multiple clusters). I brought it back to them and they redid the driver and passenger windows, and there were more problems the second time than there were the first time... I wanted the rear window done as well, but he kept trying to talk his way out of doing it. I went to another tint shop to confirm that I wasn't being overly picky, and they agreed it was a bad job. I returned again to have all the windows redone and that's when things went horribly wrong. He said that he agreed that the tints were not the "best" job, (though I paid 250 with tax included), and that he was not willing to redo them again (even though he guaranteed a lifetime warranty) because he felt he would not be able to please me (aka they would not be any better than they currently were). I said that I understood and that the only reasonable option was to work out a refund. I wasn't expecting to get all of my money back, but I did expect to get the majority of it back. He offered $75, and after an hour of arguing, went up to $100. He refused to go any higher and was trying to offer products that I don't need or another tint job on another car instead of payment (which I don't know if he'll do any better of a job). I refused all of those and he basically said I would have to take him to court. In desperation, and after a couple more hours of arguing, I agreed to take a bluetooth device that was priced in his shop at $250. He actually made me pay him $25 dollars for it, and so I did and then I left. I then went online to find the exact same products selling for $130... This guys is a scam artist and an unreasonable person to deal with on every level. I didn't even have this work done on my S5 (thank god), but I still wanted to go on every forum I can find to warn people about this shop. For your own good, please stay away from The Tint Guys at 101 Freshway Dr. Clearly even their products are rediculously overpriced... Also, please pass this message on to anyone else who may be considering them.
Happy Driving! And aren't Audis just the best! I love the S5! by far the best all-round car I have ever driven! and I have driven some pretty cool cars!

Re: Tinting Experiences!
sorry at first place that im a bit off topic, cuz i haven't done any tinting yet, so no experience at all!!!....but im thinking about taking my A4 to a quality tint shop....im in toronto, heard that audio heaven is quite good with their works and price...but they seemingly only do Solar Gard....well no offense to that by all means, but im personally looking to get Huper Optic or Llumar F1 Pinnacle....probably KrownLakeshore or Autolinks? anyone got a suggestion between the two? or any other recommendation? thanks in advance for any any input!!!!

Re: Tinting Experiences!
Thank you for ur input GT-Rick!! I'm kind of narrowing down to either krown or autolinks because of their reputation, seemingly one of the best out there, and krowns the forum supporter alas! Feel nice to support back!! Do u know by any chance what kinda film they carry? Or you would suggest? Cuz so far from my research the generally better ones seem to be huper optik or f1 pinnacle even tho at the end of the day its down to personal preferences. Hey thanks again for ur advice!

Re: Tinting Experiences!
I got my Huber Optiks (sp?) done by Krown. They did a good job. I also think they might be a sponsor or something (there was a meet there last fall).
Anyway, I don't think you can go wrong with Krown. Mention the forum and he might give you a decent price (can't speak for him though (him being Igor).
Just one thing, if you get Huber Optiks, make sure you extend the "drying" period way past the 5 days of regular tints. They are THICK tints and take way longer to dry. Unless you're leaving your car all day in the sun and by the lake where it's windy, play it safe and wait a lot longer. They also usually ask you to drop by 2 weeks after the job to ensure everything is settling nicely.
(For example, if you left your car in an underground parking garage, it would take something like 2 months to dry). I don't drive to work and I park in a covered garage so I had to wait forever for the micro bubbles to disappear which they eventually did).
Oh, and there's a lifetime warranty as long as you own the car so if there's obvious issues, they'll take care of you (and since you're on the forum, he has an even bigger incentive to treat you well, not that he actually needs the incentive).
Good luck.
