Aside from the installation experiences, anyone run into any issues with the cops?
Is there a "golden rule" of sorts for the driver and front passenger side windows for how dark to go without causing cops to pull you over?

Oh, and apologies for asking a newbie question but is the higher the percentage darker or lighter?

I love Ontario's "vague"

I think basically it's 35% or so, as the law basically says that it just can't "reasonnably" obsure vision from the exterior...

That said, here in Alberta the law is None, but I've never heard of anyone being pulled over solely for tint... more like pulled over for speeding or something, and then end up with a tint ticket as well.

 

Yup. 35% or lighter would not "usually" run you into troubles here in Ontario.
I stated "usually" because I once got a ticket in my Corvette & it had 35% tint on it.
As for the tint %, the lower the %, the darker. The higher the %, the lighter.

i got my tints done at a small shop at Weston Rd and Eglinton in Toronto... its called tint city; not impressed with the job.

the rear window tint is peeling at the bottom and so is to top side of one of the rear windows... tints were done less than a year ago and they only offer life time warranty on the parts (labour is obviously 90% of the initial cost)

im probably going to rip the tints out but im wondering how much would laser tinting cost?

 

I've narrowed it down to Thornhill Tints and FX Auto. Anyone have experience with either?

 

My buddy spoke highly of FX.
I had three vehicles done at Autolinks. Happy with John's workmanship.

 

Hands down Thornhill tint, I got my car done there 35% all around, they do tints for uptown BMW, my 2 sister and 1 brother I got them tints from Thornhill as well as a few of my friends. I get a lot of compliments for the tint job.
