Default Surface scratches

I had some bird droppings on the hood of my A4 and decided to clean it off with a wet cloth (soft cotton). I guess there was some heavy dust on the hood and I ended up with a dull scratched spot on the hood (about 4 x 4 inches). These scratches are not deep and into the paint and I am sure this can be buffed out. Just wondering what the best way to deal with this will be, can you recommend and product and technique to fix this? thanks,

Mark.

Contact e-shine (one of our sponsors) for advise. Truly they are the best at what they offer and do.

With the right polishes (I recommend Menzerna, German-made I believe)... you can probably buff it out by hand. Use some intensive polish to level it out, then use a final polish to smooth that out.

Using a buffer might be overkill.

eshine.ca is a great place, I bought menzerna products recently and they work great. Color corrected an Audi 200 to factory finish in about 5 hours. Take your time and you can get almost anything out.

I'll second Eshine, I've been dealing with them since 2005... their product line-up now is great, no need to order certain things from the US.

Scartches/Scuffs can be removed by hand but it is a PITA. If you want to try by hand use something light like Menzerna Micro Polish. If you try to use a medium/heavy cut by hand you will end up making it worse, your hand can not break down the compound properly. If you decide to buy a machine (Porter Cable is a great choice) Just a white pad and a light compound will make easy work of the marks.
