Default RS5 grill for an S5

Hi guys - as my intro post says, I drive a bone stock 2011 S5 Cab in Toronto.

Before I put my baby in for winter storage, someone apparently backed into my grill in a parking lot. No ***** to leave a note behind so I'm stuck with the fix. No damage to the bumper or hood, but they cracked the grill.

With this in mind, I'm considering upgrading to an RS5 honeycomb grill before I put her back on the road. A lot of the forums seem to get them from BKS, but I think they are in Germany so its a bit of a hassle, and they are not cheap. As a matter of fact, they are more expensive than an OEM RS5 grill from a Canadian dealer.

In talking to the dealer, they said that the OEM RS5 grill is not a 100% fit, but they are willing to try, and if I don't like it, I'm out 20% restocking fee + labour.

I also called PFAFF Tuning. They seem to have a good alternative, but it only comes in Black. I'm looking for the silver / aluminium version.

Anyone have any thoughts on this? Total noob here ...

3 weeks, 100+ reads and no replies, so I thought I would answer my own post for the future benefit of others.

It turns out my CDN dealer was quoting me a post-face lift grill. They cannot source pre-face lift grills in North America, hence why everyone goes to BKS in Germany.

I ordered mine and it is being shipped as I write.

Try using one of the other forums with more users.

Audizine

Audiworld

Europrice had them for around $500.

Thanks for the link!

I know the other forums have more users, but I was hoping to get more of a Canadian angle, as most users in those forums are from the UK or US

For my fellow Canadians, going through BKS for the RS5 grill is not for the faint of heart

Received it in the mail, and had to pay an additional $250 for 13% HST (Ontario) and 6% duty (since from Germany)

All in, its costing $1450 which I now think is too much

Hopefully I can do the install by myself with a mechanic buddy to stop the bleeding on this mod ...

Holy $@#%...

That's ridiculously expensive. Hopefully it looks great!!

I'm sick of paying the Canada tax on everything. We get destroyed here anytime we order anything.

I ended up buying the Eurocode short shifter ($420). They offer free shipping anywhere in the states, but to have it delivered to Canada ended up costing me $180... The thing weighed like 4 lbs.

I haven't done it yet but I would highly recommend using one of those mail hubs on the border to have anything shipped there. Drive down and pick it up and bring it over yourself.
