Default New Owner of 2009 S5 Needs Tire Help

Hi all,

I'd like to get a set of winter tires and wheels but I am absolutely clueless as to what size I should get. Right now, I'm sporting 255/35ZR19 and I'd like a winter kit that has the same side profile (diameter), but narrower for better winter driving.

Any recommendations? Should I go for smaller wheels but thicker tires to avoid scraping the wheels whilst keeping the same overall size?

Also, what kind of wheel offset would I need in order to keep my current track width?

Thank you!

I would just stay with same format.

Or you can drop down to the smallest available wheels that were on the A5?

If you can afford them, the Nokian Hakkapellittas are great winters.

I ended up going with 17" mags and was able to clear the brakes (even though the dealer told me it wasn't possible) and got Michelin XIce3's. This was two weeks ago, but thanks for the input anyway.

With taller (and narrower) profile tires you'll get a more cushy ride and it may affect some handling sharpness. I wouldn't treat it like it has 19s.

So what would you recommend I avoid? Quick turns? High-G turns?
