boost leak

Default boost leak

ive switched the vaccum hose from diverter to engine and i still get the engine warning light on..ive vag com'd the engine and it wsays boost leak... does anyone know what may be the problem?? could it be the diverter valve??? needs to be replaced?? or something else??

Could be an actual boost leak, you need to PM me or come over to my place so we can get it sorted out. Do you have a boost leak tester? I have one but it is for the 2.7t, we might be able to adapt it to work on the 1.8t

hmm im not too sure but today..something weird happened..i hear a loud pop and my engine died..now i got it scanned and it now says something about the throttle thing...but whenever i press the gas..it sputters,,and almost dies...have i blown the turbo?????its kinda billowing black smoke...i hope not..i just chipped it...and yeah..the vag com did say i have a leak...and another thing was im supposed to get a boost of 1.4 almost..but ive only been getting .7 at most...o now my car is in the garage..dammit!!! anybody can help me with this??

if you popped a charge hose then you might get black smoke due to a massively rich envirionment, black smoke is unburnt hydrocarbons. I am not available until tonight, but send me a PM maybe we can get this figured out
