Has anyone swapped there bose premium for an aftermarket?
I want to put a kenwood ddx-512 into my 2004 s4 avant in place of the bose premium one but keep the bose speakers. I have received so many different quotes on installation, ranging from $1200 - $200. Also will doing the swap cost me the use of my sub? Do I have to rewire all the speakers? I have called several shops and no one seems to be able to give me the goods. HelP!!!!

Anything is possible, it's all about the correct wiring harness and knowledge. After all it's all still audio equiptment, speaker connections are the same, its mostly the inputs. So many shops told me it was impossible unless i took out my whole system and custom wired it....... They just want ur money. If u need a hand let me know. I'll start u off in the right direction.
this is what u need
I dont know if there are any other things that would hinder such an install but i dont know what the center console looks like, but you would need a dash kit as well. that's what would be holding the deck in place.
Wiring Harness for your car. (It will have rca inputs so your deck has to have rca outputs for front, rear and sub

I changed my bose speakers and sub for aftermarket ones. I had a hell of a time with it. Turns out I had to run new speaker wires to all the speakers. No idea how or why it would make a difference. upgraded the amps after all i went through. End result, I;m glad I got rid of the Blows (Bose) premium system. Still running stock Symphony I unit, looking for an alternative - suitable to the interior.
