Disable Safe Mode

Disable Safe Mode
Just curious, I need to pull my battery on my 01 A4 and I don't have a radio code. I was wondering if there is a way to disable safe mode while the radio is in normal mode so it dosen't lock out. Kind of like GM cars.

Re: Disable Safe Mode
Sorry to say that there is no way. Unfortunately a trip to the Audi dealer is required in order to pull the radio code. They will pull the code and invoice you for about 100 bucks. good news is that once you have the code(unless you lose it) you never have to give it back.

Re: Disable Safe Mode
It should be located on the original owners manual for the Audi Symphony, it unfortunately is not included in the actual vehicle manual. I went through this not too long ago. I spent two weeks in safe mode after a visit to an indy garage. I finally broke down and went back to the dealership, they pulled the code, gave it to me and unlocked safe mode. Good luck, and let us know if you find another way to get that code. I would love to know for future second hand Audi vehicle purchases.

Re: Disable Safe Mode
Hey man its only 9999 codes, +1 for the 0000, its worth saving the money and enetering each one. LOL the ones I have mostly seen start with a 0 so that narrows it down to the first 999. To pull the radio you need special tools that cost you like $20 ish and then the hastle and all that....I would take it to the dealer, because the online places usually barely ever work, from what I have heard but good luck with your choice

Nothing 77 is right on the money, it is located in the Sound System Audi concert Operating Instruction manual. Mine starts with a zero as well....It does state to contact an authorized Audi dealer if you lose the Radio Card containing the code number. You will need the Serial number to reference it.
