That's great! Congratulations!

I still have to wait 2 more weeks for mine to arrive at the dealer. I am still trying to figure out what car I got LOL.

My Sales Rep is assuring me that it is the S5 Special Edition, but, after asking a few questions to other dealers and Audi Canada, I came the understanding that the special edition for Canada is called the S5 Metall which is a lesser version of the S5 Special Editon destined for the USA. The Special edition is all supped up where the Metall is a base model with navigation and park assist.

Anyhow, the car that got promoted to me was the S5 Special edition, I will not buy the S5 metall. For me, rhe Audi drive select and the sport differential is an amazing feature and is a must!

Happy Driving Bro!
I am happy that you got a happy ending!

Can't wait to see your pics!

Hey Sparthanh - what ever happened with your S5? Was it the SE you were looking for?

Have had my s4 for about a month now - posted pics here:

I've already got 2K Kms on it - and I don't use it to commute - those are all joy based KMs

Hi Insectile,

No the S5 Special Edition I wanted is only available in the USA. SO the sales rep made a huge mistake. There's another version of the S5 (limited edition for Canada and it is called the Metal Edition) still pretty nice but not the same visual impact.

Therefore I did not buy the car as it didn't really represent what I have been offered. The salesrep did propose to make it up and offered and TTRS for 70k But I did not wanted to trade in my TT for another TT with outdated interior (the interior is the exact same as the TT 200 and pay about 50k for a better engine. But the pricing was pretty competitive as well about 7 to 8% rebate (all the TTRS have the titanium package which i don't really care for and cost about 4k)

I ended up trading my car for a used 2010 S5 premium plus w 48k km for 46k $ certification included. I really wanted to get one of the last german V8 I got a car with about 3.6 years of warranty and probably a decent resale value in a few years when I'll switch for something else. I like the V8 music but it is quite muffled from the inside stock version. The V6 of the TT sang lounder. Anyhow, I still managed to put close to 3k km within the past month. (I fly to work, so this is also all pleasure driving time.) And I have to say that the V8 can be quite economical. More that 500km per tank (I fuel when I get in the red about 1/8 of the tank remaining) I was expecting a lot worse. (combined highway and city)

So I am happy with my new car It is a lot more comfortable than the TT, the only drawback is that it need a lot more work to drive on the track or in a spirited manner. Gotta get into the corner slower, but can exit faster thanks to the V8 although the downshift has to be quite drastic ... 5th gear to 3rd ... since the engine is at his best in the 3500 RPM band. And it has a lot more understeer ... but overall, still enjoyable. I only go to the playpen ounce in a blue moon.

I'm glad you enjoy your S4 as well

that machine hide quite a monster under the hood, when tuned it will unleash it's power, (ECU upgrade, Awe exhaust ...) and its not too expansive to get something like 80 extra HP and torque compared to putting a SC in the V8 (and the SC will definitely void my warranty lol).

Have a great time!

Sounds like you got a great deal in the end anyway. I was actually looking for something slightly used as well but nothing around had the right set of options.

You mention you've taken your car on the track - I've been looking into that but the websites for the local tracks (in BC) don't have a lot of information on things other than drag racing.

Any advice on how to get into that? (obviously calling the track is likely a good start, but I don't want to sound like a complete idiot when I call, if that can be avoided).

Did you have to go through training first? Can you just rent an hour to use for yourself? What kind of rates would I expect to pay?

Clearly things may be quite different in your part of the country, but any advice is appreciated. ...may in fact be worth a new thread...
