The price differential is 40 percent, which bites, especially considering that the current exchange rate with the US is in the order of 15 percent. It is an amazing car though and the engine gives it a soul.......

Whether it is 'worth it' or not is a personal decision

Went looking, pricing and, in a moment of insanity, thought about the S4. +50HP or +120 (50%) who's counting ?
Now I'm in the S, and I still can't help but think....just a little bit more.
The S is a startlingly fast car (apparently) it just doesn't feel like it when you're driving it (passengers, however, tell a different story.)
The RS4...Love to have one, terrific engine, but the torque peak, if memory serves, has moved up the rpm range a bit and it still makes the big HP numbers way high up there
(more useable than the S admittedly. sorry, 340HP @ 7000 redline is academic...does nothing for you.)
They've done some nice work with the weight reduction, new suspension, etc, but is it enough ? Don't get me wrong, love a V8 that can do 8 grand+ but where to drive it ?
It's a lot more money...pick up an '04 or '05 S4 for half and get much of the same.

I'm sure this has been around, but this is a nice drive of the new S8 (in German)
Roads like this, and understanding law enforcement, that's where the RS4 belongs.

It's a shame the V10 won't fit.
THAT would be a car.
We think a like At what point would there be enuff hp in a car? IMHO, $100K for the RS4 does not make sense. What kind of person can afford such a car? Probably someone with $$$ growing on trees and already owns a stable of cars. With that kind of money, would they get a Rs4? I think not - more likely a M5 or one of the many MB AMG models, or even the new S6 with the Lambo V10, and drive their lux SUV LR/Lexus/MB/BMW etc when the going gets rough.

For $100K with AWD, I'd look for a used Porsche. If you really need a RS4 then problably best to wait 2-3 years and pick one up for 60'ish.
I disagree. i don't have $$ growing on trees and am strongly considering the RS4. I don't have a stable of cars. There is no ther car that has the style, performance, AWD, and the capability to hold two car seats in the back! I looked at used Porsche's but they cannot handle the amount of snow we get up here. By the way, the price is $94K base.

I would like to know what RIV will do , will they put as inadmissible or admissible to Canada, if they put admissible I will not be suprised people will show south for their new RS4..

I am suprised that RS4 in canada didn't get start button and steering wheel what they offer in rest of the World, if they plan to bring and sell under 120 cars, they in most cases these cars are exempt from some of the certification that is required in this country as per Automotive Safety Certification book I have in my possesion ,

Default AUDI RS4 Orders

Just curious to know how many people on this site have ordered an RS4. Dealership? ETA? I have one on order. Estimated ETA is July or August

It's not limited to Audi though. I was looking at the Z06 and 997S and you save $15-20K on those cars by buying in the US.

The more pics/videos I see of the RS4, the more I like it. I'm not sure I think it's worth $100K, but is a Z06 worth $100K, or a 997 worth $120K or a Ferrari worth >$200K etc., etc. ? Cars are just way overpriced these days. When you factor in taxes, I don't even think an S4 is worth >$80K. It's just reality that you have to pay that much for a decent car these days. If it came with the steering wheel and seats, I would have considered it. I know to some, it may be silly to pass on a car just because of that, but for me, it was a deal killer.

Heck, if I had that kind of money and wanted a high performance Audi I'd spend the extra $15,000 and get the RS6...
Is that how much they go for in Canada?! Because I saw a shipment come in, in Southern California, and they retail for about $77K Why the big price difference?

I don't know what options they were equiped with, or what the actual dealer mark-up was but that is still a big difference.
