Rim choices on 2004 S4 Sedan

Re: Rim choices on 2004 S4 Sedan
...Afretes....I hate to get personal. These forums allow for a broad spectrum of discussion about different issues or topics. Your statement is very "close minded and simple". As such i am guessing you are somewhat younger and lack certain social graces.
To come flat out and say that something other than your thoughts on something are...."fugly" has me questioning your judgement. It's one thing to come out and say that you think the wheels are distasteful or "too much" with the solid chrome finish. But to simply respond the way you did is somewhat immature. Now i will also comment that in all the years i've spent buying, driving, or researching vehicles, i've NEVER come across any single model of car ranging from low end to exclusive vehicles that "only" look good with stock or BBS wheels. Rim manufacturers have come a LONG way in rim design and it seems highly unlikely to me that the S4 stands out as the ONLY vehicle that will only look good with your suggested choices.
Now while on this topic i will say that i have seen many vehicles that have rim/tire packages that completely don't suit a vehicle....and if someone asked what i thought of them i would reply that my choice would've been different from their own, but sometimes until you try something you simply just don't know.
Now i will finish by saying that i am not offended, just taken "aback" by a comment like this from a member of this forum. I hope you are likewise not offended and if you feel the need to voice an overtly negative comment, simply private message me with your response and the issue is dropped.
I look forward to seeing everyone's continued opinions, positive or negative on this topic after i post the wheels pics. And i REALLY hope they look good, i've never made an overtly distasteful choice in aftermarket mod before.

I'm not offended at all. We are all entitled to our opinions. One thing I should've added to my post was the famous IMO at the end, I guess I missed that : (
I didn't like your "Your statement is very "close minded and simple". As such i am guessing you are somewhat younger and lack certain social graces" comment. I call this assuming, and you assumed quite a bit with that statement.
I can see by your post that you‘re not the modest type, especially when you say stuff like this “i've never made an overtly distasteful choice in aftermarket mod before”… anyway, I hope you are not offended by my comments and next time, do it in private.
I did like one part of one of your comments, the “somewhat younger” was great! I’m not that young : )
Regards,
Alex

Thanks for responding. I would still appreciate your input on the wheels once i get them bolted up. I had done a search on Audi A4's and S4's prior to finding these Niche Venice rims and i saw some really nice, and some that really detract from the visual appeal of the understated S4.
My plan is by the end of next week to get the rims on, still hoping they look good!

Oh and by the younger comment, i wasn't implying pre-pubescent or anything. I work with people of all ages, genders, nationalities, etc. I can't ever recall hearing the term "fugly" used from anyone over the age of 40ish.
I actually haven't heard the term used in a few years, but it is easy to use and sometimes a very appropriate term depending on the topic of discussion.
Question for you Aphretes, do you have aftermarket rims on your S4 or are you running the stock Avus rims?

Re: Rim choices on 2004 S4 Sedan
What a rigamaroll. Received the Niche Venice rims (19x8.5 with 235/35/19 Pirellie P-Zero Nero Rubber). Mounted them, had a vibration. Had a shop check out the combo, said they thought all 4 rims were defective, not round. Took the wheels back to the company i purchased them from. They took them somewhere else had the rubber removed and put back on, rebalanced and apparently everything was perfect on their balancer. Once on my car again, vibration above 80km/hr.
Had many conversations with the company i purchased the combo from...long story short, they have ordered me a set of Dub Illusions in the same 19x8.5 size with the same rubber. If these don't work out, i'm going the way of TSW's Cadwell. So we'll see.
I mentioned i would give a report on the wheels. So here it goes:
1. Weight of stock 18x8 Avus wheels and Dunlop rubber (52lbs)
2. Weight of 19x8.5 Niche Venice wheels and Pirelli rubber (54lbs)
*Car actually felt a little better on the road (mostly the pirelli rubber i believe). More planted in corners. Road noise was slightly less (tread design) with the Pirelli's versus the Dunlops. Unfortunately even with the hubcentric rings had vibration in both front and rear of car above 80km/hr after 2 separate rebalancings and 1 remounting.
*Boy did the car ever look good! I didn't take a photo as i didn't have the wheels on the car long enough to clean it up and take a good photo of it. That will come with these new wheels providing there are no issues with them.

Re: Rim choices on 2004 S4 Sedan
These are just a quick photo for y'all as i just got these rims/rubber mounted today. It was quite overcast so the photos are not as bright as they could've been. These are the Dub Illusions in a 19x8.5 with a Pirelli PZero Nero 235/35/19 rubber.
They weigh 50-51lbs each, which put them at 3-4lbs lighter than the stock Avus 18 inch wheel combos.
I know some of you won't like them as they aren't a BBS style, but i've only had it out for about an hour today and received lots of positive comments. This should be a nice vehicle for my wife. I think you can sort of see my M3 in the back of the photo as well.
If anyone has any questions feel free to ask away. Comments both positive and negative are always welcome as this is posted on a national forum.
