Importing an S6 Avant (wagon)
DRLs can be turned on by turning the little DRL switch just below the headlights to ON. That's free! (did this on my own 2007 when I imported it)
A couple of examples of importing Audis:
1) My 2007 S4 was easy to bring in (this past December). Audi Canada confirmed no issues and warranty was applicable. There was nothing to be done to the car to make it admissable except for DRL's and this was dealt with in minutes with a VAG. Stealerships will charge between $250. and $500. for this but I'm not an idiot and had Independant Tuning do it for $35. An extended warranty as well as extended service ($750 for 80k) is available for this car. Net result was major savings
2) My cousin picked up an A6 with 15,000 miles on it. Same story as above .. He was able to get a Royal Buy back plan in place and due to the difference between the US purchase price and the CDN residual, he's paying less than $200. monthly to drive the car !

I just checked riv.ca a minute ago and the only audi's that you can't import are a few '98 and older models. Check it out and see if I am right. Half a year ago I was very disapointet with the huge list of inadmissable audi's they had listed. But things have changed the good way!! Check it out, you might be in luck!!!
with the changes canada made you are now allowed almost everything in. you can also get vw r32's in. all s6's besides the '95. i love mine.
keep an eye on the currency...the US dollar just crossed 1.25 CDN. GIGANTIC premium vs earlier in the year when we were importing cars at par.
