So, this is a big reach. But the 07-08 generation of S8 has dropped in price drastically and you can get a pretty freakin awesome 1-Owner car with perfect service record and decent mileage for less than $30k.
Sure, it will burn a lot of fuel and heaven forbid there's even a light collision to deal with. Besides these things, the cars are well built and generally check out pretty clean. The Lambo engine has timing chains, not belts, and is pretty much bomb-proof. The transmission should be very good if it was dealer-maintained.
A car with 160k on it though can have other symptoms of wear - such as control arms/ball joints. I am not too worried about electrical gremlins, as these are less effected by mileage and moreso by time/age. So in theory, no less risky then the S4 I was initially looking for. Speaking of age/time - can a car so well appointed and being such a marvel to drive end up being worth less than $mid 20's after 3 additional years if maintained well?
Has anyone in the Forum some experience with these beasts? Good OR bad, technical OR general, your feedback would be greatly appreciated!
Cheers,
Andrew
