Default How Low is the RS5 cab and can it be a Winter Daily Driver???

Anyone know how much lower the RS5 cab is compared to The S5 cab? I currently own the S5 cab but have never driven it in the winter. I am planning on sticking to an SUV for my wife and upgrading to the RS5 Cabriolet but would like to drive it year round up here in Canada. I would of course put snow tires and rims for the winter. I don't plan on getting the Ceramic Brakes and was hoping I can get a bit more sidewall for the winter. Will 18" rims fit? Is the car an OK driver in the winter at it's height. My son has an A4 with all season's and has never been a problem in some of our heavy snow falls. It drives like a small SUV with it's Quattro all wheel drive. Granted it is higher and quite a bit lighter and just seems to glide on top of the snow. I can save myself close to a grand a month by downsizing to just the two cars instead of keeping two SUV's and storing the Cab in the winter. I would appreciate hearing from other RS5 owners with their own winter experience now that spring has arrived.

Saw one of these for the first time in person driving yesterday. Had my SRT8 out and was trying to get him to give it a little blip but we ended up going in different directions on the freeway. Nice car but overall doesn’t look a lot different from a glance than the S5. Mainly just the grill unless you are able to look close.
In regards to the question – its spring here now and no snow at all left so I think that’s why he had her out. I suppose one could drive her year round in winter conditions to some extent but I do not have experience myself.

If your still considering the RS5 Cab, i would recommend the RS5 coupe instead. Overall better car for being in Manitoba in my opinion. I'm shopping for a used S5 right now and I find the coupe a lot more appealing than the cab. Also, theres a white RS5 at St.James right now.

My friend owns a b7 RS4 he drives all year round with no problems and his car is lowered (i mean slamed ) with no issues at all. So i would think an RS5 should be the same as long as you have winter tires.

My DD this winter was a stage 2 410hp, 450 torque BMW 335xi. I found as long as I had winter tires and traction control on I was fine in every situation. And the AWD on the 335xi was basically a LSD; way inferior to the Quattro system. I would think if you got the right tires it would be a tank in the snow.
