Fogged headlight?

Fogged headlight?
Hey I looked around a bit but couldn't find the answer. I have a B7 S4 with a fogged up headlight. Whats the best way to fix this? I was trying to figure out how to open it so I could blow some warm air in but I don't wanna break anything lol. Looks like the front plastic cover may come off? Can anyone shed any light on this for me?

Re: Fogged headlight?
usually what I've seen done is a small hole is drilled into the plastic housing to let the moisture out. Downside is, more moisture can always get back in...along with dirt and small bugs.
Unfortunately there isn't really any other way to do it... You could bake the lights, pull the housings apart, and wipe out any remaining condesation, then seal them back up, but again, not a fool-proof plan, and much more labor-intensive.

Re: Fogged headlight?
There are replaceable bulbs on the inside of the lenses. This means they must come out of a hole at least the size of the bulb, why would anyone drill a hole in the assembly? I was thinking open it up, use a hair dryer to dry it and clean the inside if any water spots are remaining. I'm just trying to find out how the bulbs come out or the assembly opens.

I have an 08 S4 (B7) and had the same problem. I took it to the dealer as it is still under warranty, they told me to wait a few days it should dry itself out. The rear of the light housing is vented. Sure enough it dried out on its own.

Ah but the plot thickens. I found out how to get the DRL out, it's acctually only two screws on the pasenger side for the intake. The Drivers side you don't even need any tools.
Turns out the guy I bought it from lied. On getting in there and seeing what's up it seems the little tiny bulb was probaby replaced with something that got hotter then swapped back the the stock one. It's a bit burned around the little light inside and it seems to be smoke on the inside. I managed to poke around in there enough to know it won't just wipe off.
Now I'm deciding how to proceed. I see the light assembly can probably be removed with the bumper on and with only three torx screws. Some people say it's easier to take the bumper off. Not sure. Eitherway I'd need some additional rachet extentions and a set of torx. It really needs to be opened and cleaned but i get the feeling once you break the seal, silicone is needed to re-seal it.

Not sure how he did it, but he managed to clean it out while it was on the car, it's sparkling fresh now.
