hi iam kinda new to audis, i think i have a broken engine mount,,, it kinda looks like the whole engine is like 2 inches farther back then its susposed to be, my rad fan is no longer in the shroud and it broke about a week ago, has this happen to any one and is it possibile to fix this my self? and what do i have to do... really need some help here, anything would help ..... thanks

If your engine actually moved back 2 inches, that means your entire drivetrain has moved back 2 inches, which means not only would your 2 engine mounts be broken, but your 2 transmission mounts are broken as well as the various diff and driveshaft mounts, not to mention the exhaust would shift back with it...unlikely.

Maybe the front end isn`t sitting quite right...the entire front shroud, rad support, rad, condenser and so on is affixed by about 10 - 12 bolts. Check to see that no major work has been done to the car ie. front end collision and that the the whole front assembly is affixed properly.

 

Well i dont exactly your engine mount has broken, it has either dislocated or moved a bit by 2 inches as said by kbonarek.

 

Better done it by a mechanic or professional
