120,000km maintanence pulleys???
My car is sitting at 118,000km and i am going to be doing the belt replacement soon. While replacing the belt i was thinking of doing light weight pulleys. I know there is a kit from ecs tuning and i know unorthodox racing has pulleys. Does anyone have a sudgestion. Is any one using these?
and also if you have any other sudgestions of work to get done while the bumpers off

I would not replace the OE harmonically dampened crank pulley with a lightweight non-dampened pulley. There has been alot of discussion regarding increased engine wear without a harmonic dampener.

The Harmonic Dampening Crank Pulley is the black pulley attached to the crankshaft beside the alternator, bottom center in this pic.
You may not want to replace that one, otherwise have fun

OP - Independent Tuning just did my T-Belt job yesterday... That's the only place I'd take my car to...

Apparently the concern of removing OE dampener is based on long term wear effects from increased peaks of harmonic resonance along the crank at various points in the RPM range.

Ya, did a lot of reading about it as well. The crank basically twists itself to death...shears in torsion. That would be a pretty narsty situation as the entire engine would be a huge paperweight after that.
I'm just hoping that "long term" means longer than the rest of the car will be around. And in theory, or at least from what I understand... the real danger would be in staying at or near a certain set of rpm values as the harmonic resonance would begin to create standing waves, the amplitude adds up and your audi ends up getting a bigger badder engine rebuild after the psuedo-nuclear event.

Here is one good read of many on the Harmonic Balancer topic:
