Seeking reliable used engine and/or advice...
Hi All,
Experienced an engine failure due to a seizure in the engine of my 2006 A4 2.0T Quattro (156km+) on Monday of this week. The more cost-effective solution might be to replace my current engine with another one, in comparison with just replacing a part, for an exhorbitant amount of money.
In weighing and investigating my options, can anyone suggest, or let me know if you or anyone you know, are sellers or have experienced this? Can anyone refer me to any reputable source(s)? This is my first time experiencing this type of mechanical failure, and am weighing whether I should just get rid of the car, or entertain the idea of another used engine as a solution?
Any info/details/help, is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Greg

Anyone know what the going cost of a used engine might be? I already know what the dealership's figures might look like...
Thanks,
Thanks,

car-part.com can get you pricing on used engines around you if you enter your postal code. If you're handy you might be able to buy a salvage car from insurance aution and pull the engine yourself and part the rest of the car out and come out ahead.
