Car looks great, but this is somewhat concerning! Did you figure out what was going on? Spec is known for some questionable products occasionally (I think just due to quality control), but I've never had to grind anything to get a starter and ring gear to mesh properly, even on Spec FWs.

I didn't see any mention of tuning – what are you going to be using?

well i spoke to Spec and this is not an original Spec flywheel made by them.
this is a Fedenza flywheel sold by spec. they stoped selling these 5 years ago when they started making their own.

I told them what i did and its alset
Everthing is working ok and it cranks fine with no issues.
I did not touch the flywheel at all, so that part is fine and there was nothing wrong with the flywheel at all. could of been my starter.

as for the tune, everything is a APR Stg3 setup.
injectors, fuel pump, MAF, intake piping, turbos, down pipes, exhaust midsection, catback exhaust and intercoolers.
So the tune is from APR also with 3 tunes, 93oct, 100oct and 104 oct with the vallet mode.
all changable from the cruse control. the chip is soldered into the ECU with these tunes.

so everythig is bolt on. no messing with dynos or doing VAG runs.

the base tune of 93 is around 447hp. the others im ont 100% sure.
