Audi A4 - Broken timing belt issues
Hi everyone!
Does anyone have a view on how likely a seized water pump could result
in a timing belt breaking?
My car is an A4 sport 5 years old 70,000 miles and serviced in line the
variable service requirements.
thanks for your help!!

Very likely since it's driven off the same belt if we're talking about
the AWM engine.

Thanks for your response.
I appreciate that the water pump is driven from the same belt, but is
it common for a waterpump failure to wreck an A4 engine?
Or perhaps there is a more general issue with A4 timing belt failures
as outlined by the US class action?
