Before you try anything complicated, just unlock & lock the car with the key
in the door. That usually does the trick with my 96 A4.
If that doesn't do it then try also starting the car. If it still won't play
after that then there's probably some other long winded procedure.....
You'll need to realign the remote when you replace the batteries or when you
disconnect the car battery.
You have got the batteries in the right way round I trust !?
