Hi there,

A small local garage near me has one for sale. It has not been listed on Autotrader or anything. The car looks to be in great shape with very low km's (59,000). 6 speed. I think the asking price is around 31-32k but I'm not sure. They started off asking 34k but the garage just left me a message saying the price had dropped quite a bit. I am not interested in the colour Silver so I will be passing on this. It has had one owner, bought from Pfaff and serviced there. New brakes recently. I called the shop today and they told me the owner took it back from them. The asking price is $28000

well...you can get a 2001.5 with the updated f-hose and oil lines to the tubo's for that price. i also noticed the rims had been touched up due to some curb rash so that was a negative for me. I also didn't wand silver and have since bought a nogaro blue one...the autotrader has a few for sale. check it out.

thanks for your info. I am actually in the process of purchasing a blue 2001 with 130000km on it. I am still waiting for them to provide me with the papers since the carproof is showing it's a 1.8t??? also I notice that it doesn't have the zenon light and fog light on the car. is that right? Can I add it on and where can I get it done? Thanks

BTW, how do I know the car is a 2001.5 model?

The easiest way is the badging. On the 2001 cars the S4 badge on the back and on the dash is a red box followed by two skinny silver bars. On 2001.5's the badge is a large S4 with a red square behind the S.

Other than that you can check the serial number on the ECU and look for the model indicator. I think the last letter on manual 2001.5 cars is M....hence the phrase M box.
