Default Is this 06 a deal??? - British Columbia

I have an accepted offer on a mint condition 2006 Audi A4 Avant, Full Load, 56k, subject to inspection by Audi. The price: only $15,000.00 - its very low. About $13k cheaper than the next cheapest I've found.

The catch: its been in 2 accidents (well there is 4 total accidents on file, 2 were minor - one was $350.00 and the other was nothing) first one however was a $13,000 "run up on the curb" scenario, and the second was a car that t-boned the A4. Apparently the side air bags deployed, and a door was replaced etc etc. Anyways, the car was also re-painted at the cost of $6000 last year. All work done by ICBC approved collision companies.

Long story short, I took the car for a drive today, around corners and highway speeds up to about 140km/hr, the thing was solid. No shaking, no pulling, seemed to be fine. Everything appears to work. All the maintenance was done by an authorized Audi dealer. I talked with Audi, it still has full factory warranty for another 7 mos and they are checking the car out for free tomorrow. Even if they find things to fix, does it matter? They fix it free.

If Audi says everything looks good, is this thing a deal? I'm considering that it does have warranty, extended warranty is available, and while the accident history may affect the ability to re-sell it down the road, the price might justify buying it regardless.

Car appears to be brand new, inside and out, and car fax report has been pulled its legit.

Any thoughts appreciated.

PS (I already have an executed contract on the car, so no you cant have it )

If it feels tight then it is a good deal, only prob with this car would be trying to find someone else who wants to buy it once you are finished with it

To answer your question, no salvage or rebuilt title.

Deal fell through. I withdrew the offer.

The seller is a young asian gentlemen who has his friend, the "agent" selling the car on his behalf - a couple 20 year old kids. When I inquired about the details of the accident and said I wanted to talk to the seller directly with a few questions, the "agent" said the "owner wanted nothing to do with it and that I was to deal through him with any questions". The "agent" has power of attorney on the car, but I checked the POA and the VIN numbers were incorrect thus rendering it void. They said "oh well we can get a new Power of Attorney within a couple of days with the right VIN number, but the seller has signed the transfer form for registration and insurance purposes, so the POA really doesnt matter". Hrmmmmm

Car is not stolen, and there is no indication of outright fraud.... but this deal is strange to say the least.

Not to mention 4 accidents on the car... LOL. Although the car looks mint, and drives perfect. Sad really.

Hey 2006A4Avant, weird situation. I live in Vancouver and am looking for an Avant. Even though the story is a little weird, do you mind letting me know how you found these guys. Maybe I will give it a look or just avoid them completely.

Cheers on your hunt for an avant... even better and harder to do is trying to find an S-Line avant.

Don't do it. Shady deal means trouble down the road. Not worth it. How can a car that's been t-boned with side airbag deployed and not have a rebuild title? VIN change probably. If this is legit it won't be 13K below what others are selling for.
