just change the coding to 16200.
i think that's the best one.

In what module do you suggest he does that? FYI the B5's dont have Module 46, according to ross tech which is the Central Conveniance, where I am guessing you want him to put in 16200 right?

Module "35" Central Locks
the code works on both 35 and 46

Running 15981 in Address 35 on B5 A4, B5 S4 and C5 A6. What do you like about 16200 ?

16200 makes no sence!
15215 is the total sum of the numbers stated above.
Minus 512 as you already have the dual blink
=14703 right?
Plus the additional bits that are not disclosed and serve a function thought
14703+16+128+1024=15871
So I really have no Idea where 15981 came from? As it is in excess of 110 bits and this makes no sence?? same as 16200.
Binary count as you are aware counts in doubling the number before
1,2,4,8,16,32,64,128...etc. and Audi has used full binary numbers for each function so there is no in between.

Re: Tips and tricks......for your audi

15981 came from the fact that our Audi's shipped from the factory with 15917 and I added +64 to get the Comfort Closing via Remote Control = 15981

Obviously some of the missing increments of 16, 128, 1024 are included in Audi's calculation but not explained in the Ross Tech list... anyone know what they do ?

that is Weird man! I will have to test it out on my next Audi! I could not find these bits but the things that are missing in there are the horn control, interlink for timer between the lights and the coming home feature, and a possibility of Auto lock is at 16 I think??? I will have to sit down and check the wiring

EDIT: also there is some function output to the immobilizer unit I would imagine =1024? No idea these are just thoughts!

Thanks for your comment. However these things make no sence mathematically. I program PLC's and work around electricity/engineering on a daily basis so this is my field. One of the main reasons I purchesd an Audi was because of the sophisticated electrical system. I agree both are 2 different things but without the Theory and engineering the Audi would not be on the road my friend. Please try and make some sence out of the numbers for us and help us out to find out what they stand for, because I know you are an Audi gear head too. Instead of putting in irrelvant information.

my comment? yes, get used to it, it will be with you all your live.
the vag-com got nothing to do with Audi. i think there are still some bugs in it, you just have to work around or with it.

what's that american saying? "works on paper" same thing with my comment.
