Default Rebuilding a 2.7T

I just gave the green light to rebuild my engine. It's a 2.7T in a 2003 A6. It's getting new valves, gaskets, water pump and timing belt. What else should I be asking about?

Spider hose and all vac tubing, it's plastic and brittle, shatters when you touch it. Other than that, nothing unless its broken. What happened to the car? T Belt skip? If you decide to delete the SAI, I have a set of good heads from a 00 S4

The bearing on the water pump pulley went and the timing belt later in the day.

Yeah, not exactly how I wanted to spend five grand on my car but without an engine you haven't got much of a ride to pimp anyway.

Strongly recommend the complete Timing Belt Kit including idler roller, hydraulic tensioner, thermostat, etc. If coolant expansion tank is discolored brown, replace it too. Along with updated insulated PCV Hose assembly, replace oil cap with new vented version as it is cheap insurance for oil seals during winter. Check for leaky cam seals and caps, front main crank seal, etc.

I'm no mechanic that's why I'm on here asking questions, but I can ask the guys doing my motor for a ballpark price. I'm sure some of the senior members on here can be alot more help than I can.
