I just had the alternator and battery replaced...... i was at the repair shop started the car drove home..... I went to start the car right after i turned it off nothing. Not a noise, but all electrical came on.
Sounds like it would be the starter .... i have no mechanical knowledge what so ever.... any thoughts ?

LOL, ummm are you sure they put in a good battery? sounds to me like the battery is dead my friend, try measuring voltage it should be around 13.6 volts accross the negative and positive. Or if you cant measure it take it out and go to a place like canadian tire they test it for free. Try boosting your car as well with the other car!!!! Let it charge for about 2-5 minutes before you try to start the audi! It should work! Then let your car run on its own power for about 20 minutes - 30 minutes so go for a nice little cruise

 

battery is fine seats heat and everything runs when i try and start just no noise at all ..... when the battery was dead i had the fast repetitive clicking when i try and start....this time no noise.

 

starter or ignition cylinder?

ended up being the starter... 340 bosche stater installed..... Salim's at Queen St E just west of Coxwell... i always go there... he specializes in Audi/Volkswagen
