I recently became owner of an Audi A6. The previous owner had no clue that the radio has an unlocking code. I realized if any maitenance required with battery disconnection, I need the code to reactivate the radio.
Question: 1) Is it any other easy way beside the original dealership that sold the car to previous owner, to find out the code.
2) Anything else I should know when disconnecting the battery in general.

I would appreciate any input..

 

Have you checked all the manuals to see if the previous owner scribbled the code down? As well you can go to any Audi dealership with your ownership and the serial # of your radio.

 

Nothing special about disconnecting the battery. But be sure of this, you will require that radio code when you put the battery back in. Any audi dealer can either pull your radio and give you the code ( cost about $70 ) or pull the radio yourself and bring the radio serial number and ownership in. Audi may be nice and give you the code free of charge. either way good luck.

 

As said above, nothing special in disconnecting the battery, just like any other car.

For the radio code, mine was at the back of the manual on a page dedicated/stuffed in there for the radio itself. It was a sticker on the page. On a friend's car, the code was actually stickered on top of the radio when you remove it.

Easiest way to get it would be through the dealership, they can lookup the code for you.
