Default Tire or engine noise

Hi folks

Just back from a long road trip and the car is making a lot of noise. I think its noise from the tires and probably not the engine because the RPM is stable. I drive an automatic 2.0 T with 40k km.

Any ideas on what I should look for? Visual inspection of the tires doesn't show anything obvious such as abnormal wear. No issues with wobbling or pulling to any particular side and the car is stable at any speed.

Thoughts?

Possibly wheel bearings? Hit any potholes?

Yes indeed.. The road was pretty bad in the construction zones. Can the wheel bearings be inspected easily? Hope I don't need to bring the car to the dealer.

Not sure how easy it is to inspect, but if you haven't already done your 40k service ask the dealership to check the bearings when u do that, and ask to see if it might be covered under warranty...

Just a suggestion, but check the back edges of the tread blocks for feathering. The Michelin Latitude Tour HP tires on my Q5 started to get noisy at that age. Rotating front/back tires helped for a while although dealership refused to rotate them routinely unless there were more obvious wear issues.

Thanks for your suggestions. Wheel bearing replaced under warranty and the car is good again.
