They just want me to pay for the oil consumption test and they say audi will probably reimburse you if you fail but its still a 600$ test.

How do i find the regional zone manager? (For Canada> Quebec > Montreal)

Yeah, just go by their direction. Aside the worry and inconvenience at least you are under warranty.

I'm only worried because my warranty ends in 80,000km and I want this issue resolved before warranty is over.

I'll hit my next 1000km by Monday.

I'll go see them again.

Ask Audi of Canada for a contact number. Go over the situation with them / him calmly. $600.00 seems excessive for the dealer to fill the engine with oil that has been weighed and then re-weigh the oil at 600-800 miles. They put pistons & rings in my engine and that resolved all my oil consumption issues.

Use Mobil 1, grade 0W40 oil.
It is available at Wally mart.
It is an approved oil...
All 2.0 turbos from VW group should use this oil...
then you will avoid oil burning issues.
Castrol oil sucks!
I use it in my 2009 A4 and no oil issues at all!
Good Luck

I've always went with Mobil for all my cars when given the choice. But if the engine is an oil burner, it'll burn the oil no matter what.

But this oil burning issue seems to be a case of the brand of oil... VW has a long term contract officially with Castrol and cannot afford to get out of the contract. Having read a lot about this issue, it seems that when Castrol is used, then one has a burn issue. Changing oil has seemed to solve the problem. I just ran a 5000 km high speed run, did not use a drop of oil... used Mobil one. When you go to buy a 2.0 litre then you will also be convinced of this, as it seems you presently do not own a 2.0 turbo from the Audi/VW family. Buy a an Audi, (and if it is a 2.0 litre use Mobil one)... they are great cars.
By the way, I have not used Mobil one for all my other cars as Mobil does not make an oil the has the specs for my other cars... 3 VW diesels...

I have owned 2 VW/Audi turbo fours, 1.8T '03 Passat variant and at present an '08 A4 sedan. Used Castrol Syn tech in both with no oil burning issues. New A4 coming at the end of March and don't plan to change type of oil I will use in it. I tend to agree with Ghost Rider if the engine is an oil burner I'm not convinced a change to another synthetic will stop it, but stranger things have happened. How often are you changing your oil?
