Hi everybody,

I didn't notice this before but recently when I was washing my car, I notice there were blotches of faint, dark stains on my car's white exterior.

They happen to be at the spots of where there was oxidation, prior to using turtle wax's rubbing compound to remove them.

Now it leaves a nasty mark on my white car's paint, kinda like fading acne marks.

Any solution to get rid of the marks? I'll post up pictures later.

Rubbing compound = very very fine sand paper. If you used a power polisher then you may have removed all the clear coat and a lot of paint. Something as strong as a rubbing compound should really only be applied by hand. Might need to be re-painted. I'm curious to see the pics. I hope for your sake that I'm wrong.

 

kinda need some better contrast to see. try looking from down to up angle, you can see it better if you are on an LCD screen

 

I've used Turtlewax rubbing compound (still have it actually), never seen it do that.

Not to mention, oxidation on a brand-new car...?

Why haven't you taken it to the dealer, who should send it to a detail shop to have it professionally color-corrected..?

Wash the car by hand first, always using clean washmits/rags/buffing towels for every step.

Then wax the car by hand. Apply wax ~ let dry ~ buff clean ~ 1 body panel @ a time...
