new to this forum. just put an order in for a manal 2009 a4 premium package. have started thinking about winter tires and may use the stock rims for winters and look to after market rims for nonwinter use - any recommendations for nonwinter rims.

Audi has nice rims at the dealer. R18 for my A4 would make it even sexier than it already is.

Whatever you do, try to go lighter (if budget allows). I went from OEM 18's to 19" Volks. The 10 lb difference per corner was very noticeable in ride, accelleration and handling ! I picked up mine used from a guy in Cali ... troll the classified forums here, AZ, AW etc and if you're patient, you'll find something you'll like.

i just got knockoffs, err, replicas for my A3. audi was giving away free snows on all quattros. rather than give me the same size (18"), i asked them to give me 17" for the snows instead. saved money by buying the rims and getting them installed somewhere else.

 

It's a great idea to go with smaller rims in winter, so if you have 17" summer tires, the best set-up is 205 55 16. You can find OEM Audi rims on Craiglist, then I recommend the Dunlop Winter Sport, the top rated winter tire. I drive to Whistler on heavy snow mornings and these have been stunning
