Default HELP 2009 A4 Winter Tires

Guys I need some help please. I have an 09 A4. Stock all season tires are 225/50R17 94H. When I look for winter tires online, they keep giving me 235/45/R17. What the hell! I'm guessing if my stock is 225 then winters should be 225 too right?

Also, I want to save a few bucks so i'm thinking i'll go down to 16". What size should I get if I want 16" winter tires? They have a tire sale at Warden and Finch in the Bridlewood Mall parking lot. The dude quoted me $700 for 16" Goodyear and Steels rims.

HELP!

HELP!
Just because factory is 225 winters isn't necessarily 225. Usually people go a little narrower with a taller side profile to maintain the same overall size.

However, 235/45/17 is definitely wrong. That's the size for B6/7 cars. B8 cars are different. For 16" try 225/55/16. But keep in mind not all 16" will fit over the brakes.

HELP!
Im in the market for winter tires and rims as well....From what I've been told, there are no steel rims that will fit a 09 A4.....only alloy rims....best price so far $1100.00 tires and rims.....but Im still searching.

Im waiting to hear back from Allen at Simply Tire, he was great when I needed
tires on my 911....so hopefully he can beat the $1100.00..I will post what he comes back with.

check the size of the tire on your car and use the size as your search criteria. Trust the car not what some website says.

If you need winter rims check out craigslist and audizine. better deals.

Good tires alone will cost $1000. I paid $247 each for Michelin X-Ice Xi2, 225/50-17 installed and balanced.
I got 17" RS4 replicas and installed Orange Electronic TPMS.

Simply tire is located near Dufferin and Finch....one street west of Dufferin. Great to deal with.

The $1100.00 quote was from my guy that does my oil changes on my Highlander..I have know him for about 6 years......his buddy owns a shop in Ajax......I have not seen the tire so I don't know what brand they are...but Im not really picky on brands....I mostly do city driving, from Pickering to downtown Toronto.

Did I get kicked over to the Chevy Malibu forum? Don't care about the type of tire? Looking to put steelies on a brand new A4?

Good thing you spent all that money for advanced engineering and Quattro, eh!
