Im removing the steering rack, and having some trouble finding the last bolt.
Im following a tutorial for a b5 audi, hes doing the same thing. But theres 1 bolt for the steering rack i cant find, i did the 2 at the top of the car (under battery and on driver side) but cant find the one underneath the car. Can anyone help me locate it?

 

The last bolt you will need to get form the bottom. Look up by where the downpipe connects to the turbo and you will see a 12 point bolt that sticks out from every other bolt facing directly up. You can get to it with a 2-3ft extension or just put a bunch of extensions together.

 

Thank you so much! I will look at it asap, the thing is. Its a 3.0L, no turbo. Is there a difference?

 

Ok i found it, but it is impossible to get at! Tried for 2 hours! Cant get it from the bottem with a long extension and flex joint or from the inside. Does anyone have a idea how?

 

Ok, nevermind took it out. Pain in the ***! So was taking out the shaft. Now i gotta put a new one in, *sigh*
