what's the max km a4 can handle?

i have a 2004 a4 at 122300km...too much ...

welcome, that's a lot of mileage you put in your car!! i'm no expert but as long as you do your regular maintenance and check ups, you should be fine, your mileage can go as high as you want depending on how much money you want to put into the car to replace the wear and tear parts. ive seen owners who have their cars for 10-15 years because they have taken care of it while ive seen others whose newer audis are a mess because they never took care of it.

does the car signal u when oil needs to be changed?

 

It has a dummy sensor based on the number of km since it was last reset but I don't rely on it at all due to my car being older.

If you want to keep your car for a long time, use full synthetic oil, Audi approved fluids for all the other vital systems (especially coolant, power steering fluid and etc...) as well as changing the oil frequently.

For a car with the mileage you've posted I hope that you have already changed the timing belt or that you're doing it ASAP.

 

I think timing belt for 2004 a4 is due on 150K?.. or at least that is what the people at audi told me

 

That true, if you take car of it, it will last a long time. Take my previous car for example - 92' honda accord with about 250,000 km on it and still running strong. My new A4 about 2500 km.

 

Yep that's about right... timing belt should be done at 140-150k.

Basically don't worry about the car lasting... We've had an A6 in the family that has about 260k now and it still runs strong...

 

i am doing my timing belt at 100k to be on the safe side. since there are stories of failing timing belts before the the 150k mark.

 

depends how the car was used too I guess... lol

 

My 99.5 has 276000km on it and still runs like new. I do Oil every 16000km and t-belts at 96000km.
