Question Turbo issue

I probably already know the answer but anybody with some info, I have a 2001 Audi A4 1.8T and out of no where my turbo isn't working or at least doesnt feel and sound like it is. Everything else runs beautiful but no whistle or boost when it should kick in. Anything guys?

Check all you connections for possible turbo leak. May be difficult to find visually so try with removing the intake and making up a device that will allow you to use compressed air. Be carefull not to exceed 8-10 psi on the compressed air. Did this on a B5 S4 with success.

If you have access to vag com, try logging block 115 (I think that's the one) so you can see requested boost vs actual boost.

my mechanic checked everything, no leak no nothing. then one day my exhausts starts smoking black/white smoke, i couldn't tell which it was really. but you guessed it, i had to replace my turbo and now it feels like new! if you have a blown turbo, do not drive it or it might have chunks sucked into your engine and you are screwed big time!
