If it shakes on cold engine only you are OK. It is due to cold ATF.
In case it happens on hot engine you need maintenance. My mechanic says to replace it every 120 k because of moisture in it.

The thing to watch for is either it shakes when it changes gear ex from 2 to 3.
There could be just a slight little hesitation or so but this is very serious.
The whole thing there revolves around fluid valves and passages. They close and open in something like 1/100..00 of a second so your fluid must be perfect to accomodate that.
My mechanic says " well we have two choices either replace the fluid now or transmission later"

You be the judge.

When you put it in reverse there is additional load on the engine, just make sure there is no vacuum leaks. the Hoses by the coolant resevoir usually start wearing out and get soft. Also make sure you do not have oil sludging, as it takes the oil sometime to get into the camshafts.

mine was in fact vacuum leaks - also, one of my newly replaced coil packs needed replacing. i haven't been able to replicate the problem since the repair.

Thanks for the reply. How do I check for a vacuum leak? Is it an easy fix.

I'm getting the oil changed this week, so I'll let you know if theres any progress.

mine has the tiny little shack when i first turn it on in he morning and when backing out of the garage.... i notice because i can see the HID light with a little shake. lasts about 1 min. i also noticed the driver side door around the handle inside the door panel has a mini rattle. but after a min when im done backing up to drive its normally stopped.

the door rattle part is the part that pisses me off the most.
hope ya get it solved

Check by the coolant reservoir and the hoses at the back of the head as well. you may have to take off the coolant resevoir to look at the hose attached to the intake hose, listen for any kind of hissing sound. run your fingers over the vacuum hose to feel any air.
