Hey, I have an Audi A4 2004 and have a steering rack leak on the passenger side. I found a used one at an auto wreckers for $180. He tells me there are two different model types though. A ZF and I'm not sure of the second one he said, I think it was maybe Cardone? Anyways I then called the dealer, asked which one mine was and the guy said on the computer it shows one for the 1.8T and a different one for the 4.2L. So after that I called the wreckers again and they said ZF is used in some 1.8T and 4.2L and the "Cardone" is used in the 1.8T. Some people are telling me not to go the wreckers rout but I'm also being told that rebuilds aren't the greatest either. The dealer wants $1200 for the part. Any suggestions would be great!!
