Damn, why couldn't this thread been around earlier? =)

My little light thing had a mind of its own. It had epilepsy, I'm sure. I even took a video of it and sent it to Audi. Their lovely engineers in Germany even got back to me and said it was weird...

Evidently not. - at least I got a new one put in via warranty!!

The little light, by the way, is LED (or so they claim)...
