Hey guys, I've basically done a DIY of ordering 2 new B7 keyfobs, 2 IMMO chips, and 2 B7 switchblades (shorter stalk) and have now put them together.

I am having the hardest time finding a place to get them cut. I've called multiple dealerships and they all want me to buy the switchblade there at a cost of 70 dollars per blade to have them cut it...NO THANKS

Where can I get these keys cut in Toronto or somewhere around toronto.

owasco audi does it

 

unfortunately not...I have already tried contacting Neil@Owasco who is an AZ advertiser for Owasco Audi...They don't cut keys that aren't OEM...which means I gotta purchase each blade from them for a cost of 70 dollars...Their argument is that the blades that come from ebay break their machines...it is true that if the blades are steel they are harder to cut, but the ones I got are from ebay user "artiway" and I have confirmed with him that these keys are brass...I tried explaining it to Owasco and still no luck

Anyone else cut keys?

 

Today, I ordered a main key without a blade from Audi of Mississauga for my A4 2001. It may not need to be programmed and costs about $85 including tax. Hope this be of any help to you.

 

The reason I didn't order the keys from the dealer is because I wanted to upgrade the B6 Keyfob to the B7 keyfob. It look so much nicer.

I've already got 2 almost new keyfobs from eBay and put in blank blades and blank immobilizer chips.

The dealer is willing to program them...thats not a problem...but I'm having the hardest time trying to find someone who will cut these keys...these are brass blades...just like OEM and they cut like butter unlike steel.

Even if it is a keysmith, I don't mind...just need to get the keys cut

There was a post of someone that knew a guy that does it, but it was a while back and he is in toronto as well.

The problem with the dealer, and them cutting the key they need to see the original receipt from the dealer that you purchased from otherwise its no go, as it does break the machine
