Hi,

I got a 2003 Audi A4 1.8T fwd. Has 170k miles.
My car just stalled out at the light and didnt start after. I am getting fuel and a spark. I checked both. Fuel pump and filter was changed about 20k miles ago.
Engine cranks and sounds smooth like before.

The power coils are about 40k miles and are the stage 1 ecs tuning coils. So they should be good. Plus i am getting a spark so it cannot be them.

From what I've been reading, it looks like it might be camshaft sensor or cranshaft sensor or both. But I am leaning more towards that camshaft sensor.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

 

I recommend you at the first step try to VAG the car.

 

hey an update.

Looks like a piece of the tensioner broke and dropper down to the bottom where the crankshaft pulley is and jammed it. Thus is didnt turn. I fixed that and changed timing belt. I aligned everything. Put it back together and its not getting spark now. i checked all sensors and anything i could have possibly messed up, but no spark.

Fuse was blown so i changed it. but still not getting any spark.

is there a relay or something that could be stopping the spark?

I am not getting any codes.
