Default car shake on sharp turn when accelerating

I have a quick question. I'm not sure if anyone is experiencing the same issue, but when i'm in a parking lot, and take a sharp turn, the car shakes. This, however, disappears when i pull of the gas pedal. Is this normal? My assumption was that the 4wheel drive system kicks in b/c of the sharp turn, but i've driven other 4 wheel drive cars w/o the same problem.

thanks

It doesn't sound normal - Quattro always engaged, as it's a mechanical only system and power is always sent to all four wheels. Perhaps it's time to change your centre and rear differential fluids?

Pinion gears in rear diff are slipping...Just my guess from your symptoms.

thanks for the reply. I have taken it to a couple audi delerships, however, both didn't provide any answers. One took it for a test drive, and said that nothing was wrong, and the other dealership said that this was normal, but he didn't seem to confident.

quattro is a 4wd system that powers all the wheels all the time... if i understand correctly, you're experiencing this phenomenon at extremely low speeds during extreme turns (steer all the way to left or right)

that is sort of normal as all the wheels try to turn with one wheel rotating less than another... the diffs compensate somewhat, but shudder can be experienced if you crank the wheel...

Thanks for the info...and you're right, it only happens at low speeds at full steering wheel rotation.

Thanks again for your input

Yo, my car does this too. I thought I needed to change my power steering fluid. I'm glad that this doesnt seem to be a harmful problem. Could it be tire rotation or wheel alignment? Just watch your acceleration when doing tight turns and leave yourself space I guess... right?
