..as for pirelli... Got sottozero serie2 for winter, a bit pricey but excellent tire, no complaints whatsoever... Doesn't feel like a winter tire when it's warm and bare ashfalt either...

I have Nokian WR G2 all seasons. There excellent in winter and summer conditions. I think they were around $219 per tire.

I second this comment! I have the same tires and they have been great so far for the Calgary Winter (which is always a nightmare)

Best winter tire is Gislaved, which is now called Continental I believe!
