A4 b6 2004 3.0l v6
***A4 B6 2004 3.0L V6*** Hello, i have a low oil pressure red light issue. I bought a pressure gage and monitored my oil pressure. It turns out that my oil pressure is good when the engine is cold. When starting the engine i have a 65 psi at idling rpm(+-1200rpm). The pressure is getting down while the engine is getting warmer and stabilizing at 20 psi at 800rpm. It takes about 10 minutes to reach 90 degrees. I extended the pressure gage hose to reach the cockpit and i went for a drive. Oil pressure is good while driving, i get 25-70 psi for 1000 to 3000 rpm. But here is the problem, after 10-15 minutes when the engine is hot the oil pressure is dropping at a 4-6 psi at idle rpm(800rpm) if i stop somewhere. The engine have no inhabitual sound or rattling. Notice that since the red light came on i did not drove it without reading the oil pressure to prevent heavy damage. The first time it did happen, the red light came on after a few minutes of driving, it is similar to the situation i experienced while driving with the pressure gage reading. How can the oil pressure be bad only at idling rpm? I took of the pan to clean it and be sure the pump pick up tube was not clogged. I asked a few garage around here but nobody have experience with the 3.0 V6. Anybody have an idea or experience similar problem? Thanks for any advice.
