Okay, so this only started happening today after I started my car. I was driving for about 2 minutes and I noticed my battery indicator light came on. My radio, my dash lights were all fine, and nothing was dimming, so I checked my volt meter on the car and on my audio deck and it was at 11.0v.

Usually, normal levels would be at 12.8-12.9 even 13.1. So I kept driving cause I didn't wanna stop on the highway and the meter returned to its normal levels and the indicator light went off. Shortly after, mostly in the lower gears the battery indicator would come on and then drop to 11.0v and then spike back up to 13.1.

In terms of all electrical components (lights, dash, vents, radio) nothing changed. My car still starts no problem, but I was wondering if any of you could enlighten me on what this could be and how I could remedy it.

Oh, forgot to mention, car is a 2000 Audi 1.8T 5 spd.

 

I would think that your alternator is about to give it up.
